Landscape Lighting

Path lights, uplights, and accent lighting for your yard, installed as a standalone system or integrated into your permanent LED controller.

Overview

Landscape lighting is the exterior lighting that doesn't touch the house, path lights, uplights, wash lights, tree lights, and hardscape lighting. Done right, it turns your yard into an environment after dark instead of a dark void beyond the front step.

We install professional-grade brass and cast fixtures on low-voltage (12V) systems, sized so the last fixture on the run is as bright as the first. That's the difference between a professional install and a big-box kit, the kit installs bright at fixture one and dim at fixture eight because voltage drops over distance and the kit transformer wasn't sized for it.

Good landscape lighting is a design discipline before it's an install. We do a night walk of the property to see where the eye wants to land, what should be featured (facades, specimen trees, hardscape lines), and what should be hidden (utility areas, chain-link, the neighbor's trash bins). A yard with only path lights lit at even intervals feels like an airport, not a home.

Everything can run standalone with an astronomical timer, or integrate into your Jellyfish permanent LED controller so the whole exterior, roofline, landscape, hardscape, lives on one app and one schedule.

What's included

The details that matter.

Brass & cast fixtures

Professional-grade fixtures that develop a patina and last decades, not big-box plastic that cracks the first freeze and fades in two seasons.

Layered design

Uplights on architecture, path lighting for safety and rhythm, wash lighting on plantings, moonlighting from trees. Multiple layers is what makes it look intentional.

Sized transformer

Voltage drop calculated and load balanced so every fixture is evenly bright, and headroom left so you can add fixtures later without a second transformer.

Buried wire

Wire pulled below mower depth so a weed-whacker or mower blade doesn't take out the run six months in.

Night aim, every fixture

Every fixture aimed after dark by the installer, not aimed in daylight from the driveway and left.

Smart control

Astronomical timer (real GPS sunset/sunrise), phone app, or full Jellyfish integration. Your choice.

Serviceable, not sealed

Fixtures with replaceable LED modules over sealed integrated units, 15 years from now you replace the lamp, not the whole fixture.

Warranty on labor and lamps

Manufacturer warranty on fixtures and lamps plus our first-year labor warranty on the install itself.

Process

How it works with us.

  1. 01 · Night design walk

Night walk of the property with you. Identify what to feature, what to hide, and how you use the yard after dark.

  2. 02 · Fixture plan + quote

Fixture-by-fixture plan with categories, counts, and a fixed price, not a bulk estimate that leaves scope open.

  3. 03 · Install

Wire pulled below mower depth, transformer mounted at the house, fixtures set, and everything wired and tested.

  4. 04 · Night aim + tuning

The install isn't done until we've walked the property after dark with you and adjusted anything that isn't sitting right. That's the actual job.

  5. 05 · Service & seasonal tune

Plants grow. Fixtures need re-aiming as the yard matures. We come back, you're not on your own.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Standalone or integrated?+

Both are supported. Integration into Jellyfish is optional and can be added later, you're not locked in either direction at install.

Does it need a permit?+

12V low-voltage systems generally don't require permits or a licensed electrician. The transformer plugs into an exterior outlet.

Can I add to it later?+

Yes, that's why we size transformers with headroom. Adding fixtures is usually a same-day service call.

Will it kill my grass or beds?+

No. Wire is pulled with a bed edger under sod or laid in mulch beds. Most installs show almost no trace within a week.

Bulbs vs. integrated LEDs?+

We prefer fixtures with replaceable LED modules over sealed integrated units, much longer serviceable lifespan.

What about power outages?+

The system just picks back up on its next schedule. Smart transformers hold their schedule through outages.

How much power does it draw?+

A typical residential system draws less power than a single small appliance. LED landscape lighting is one of the most efficient exterior loads on the house.
