The Hamilton Home Accents FAQ Hub: Answers Before You Call

This Hamilton Home Accents FAQ hub answers the most common questions about pricing, process, service area, and products before you pick up the phone.

This Hamilton Home Accents FAQ hub pulls together the questions we get asked most often, from how consultations work to what separates our lighting products from each other. It is meant as a starting point, not a replacement for talking with us directly about your specific property.

A lot of first-time callers have the same handful of questions, and answering them upfront usually makes the actual conversation more productive since we can skip straight to your yard and your goals.

If you don't see your question here, that's exactly what a consultation is for.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Perrysburg and serve Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan, including Toledo, Sylvania, Maumee, Monroe, Ann Arbor, and a number of surrounding towns. Our full service area list covers the specific towns we work in regularly.

If your town isn't listed, it's still worth reaching out, since we take on projects outside our core area depending on scope and scheduling.

Distance from Perrysburg is one factor in scheduling, but it is rarely a reason we can't take on a project altogether.

How does a consultation work?

A consultation is a free, on-site visit where we walk your property, talk through what you're trying to accomplish, and take measurements relevant to your project, whether that's roofline footage for permanent lighting or bed layout for landscape work.

You'll get a straightforward look at what your options are and roughly what a project would involve before committing to anything.

Most consultations take under an hour, though larger properties or more involved landscape projects sometimes take longer.

What's the difference between Jellyfish, Govee, and traditional lighting?

Jellyfish uses individually addressable LED pixels in an aluminum track for detailed patterns and precise color control, and is our most established permanent system. Govee is a more budget-friendly permanent option with fixed LED spacing (19 inches on the Pro line, 15 inches on Elite/Govee 2) that still supports app control and color changes.

Traditional holiday lighting is seasonal only, no permanent hardware, installed before the holidays and taken down afterward.

The right choice depends on budget, how often you want to change your display, and whether you want lighting up year-round or just for a few weeks each winter.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, financing options are available for qualifying projects, which can make a larger permanent lighting or landscaping project more manageable upfront. Details and current options are outlined on our financing page.

Smaller projects, like a single patio lighting install or a seasonal holiday package, are often paid for directly without needing financing at all.

We can talk through what makes sense for your project size during your consultation.

What other services do you offer besides lighting?

Beyond lighting, we handle landscape design, mulch, retaining walls, ponds and water features, trimming, power washing, and seasonal cleanup.

A lot of customers start with a lighting inquiry and end up bundling in a landscape project once they realize both can be planned together, especially when beds and lighting placement affect each other directly.

You don't have to bundle services. Each one stands on its own, but many customers find it convenient to handle more than one project with a single point of contact.

When is the best time of year to schedule?

Spring and fall are our busiest seasons, since that's when most landscape projects and pre-holiday lighting installs happen. Winter is actually a good time to schedule a consultation and get a plan finalized so you're not waiting in line once the busy season starts.

For holiday lighting specifically, earlier scheduling in the fall means a better chance of getting your preferred install window before the season fills up.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy's guidance on outdoor lighting efficiency, planning lighting layouts ahead of installation season also gives more room to consider energy-efficient fixture choices without rushing the decision.

Frequently asked questions

Is the initial consultation really free?

Yes. We come to your property, walk through your goals, and provide options with no obligation to move forward.

How far in advance should I book for the holiday season?

Earlier is better, generally by late summer or early fall, since our holiday lighting calendar fills up as the season approaches.

Can I combine lighting and landscaping in one project?

Yes, this is common. We can plan both together so plant placement and lighting layout work with each other rather than being designed separately.

What if I'm not sure which lighting product fits my home?

That's a normal starting point. We'll walk through your home's architecture and your goals during the consultation and recommend the option that fits best.

The bottom line

  • Consultations are free, on-site, and typically under an hour.
  • Jellyfish, Govee, and traditional lighting each serve different needs and budgets.
  • Financing is available for larger projects.
  • We offer landscaping services beyond lighting, and they can be planned together.
  • Winter is a good time to plan ahead of the busier spring and fall install seasons.
